Our View

Strictly bullshit.

This isn't strictly business as the recent version on Donald Trump of the Wall Street Journal's Opinion page piece,"Trump, Reality and the GOP, claims to condone the feckless House Speaker Paul Ryan's actions. Here's a pitiful example of how these social shut-ins think.

Defending down-ballot races isn't the most inspiring goal, and it won't satisfy those who want the moral validation of condemning Mr. Trump and all his works. But Republican leaders have real institutional obligations, and these include serving the country when their political choices are less than ideal. So what have they been doing when the choice is ideal. From there past record it's pretty clear--not much.  In other words, the situation is less than ideal and we're just going to be a group of small minded good Republicans, pull up second base and go home.

Then this feeble-stricken group of whiners talk about rebuilding the GOP, the Grand Old Party that's been dead longer than Lazarus. If this party were any deader than it is now, it would be a sign outside your local mortuary. "Embalming invokes 20% value added fee."

To be sure, at least for a while longer, Ryan has a right to his opinion and to state it publicly. But the rest of us at least for a little longer have the same right to our opinion and to state it publicly also: House Speaker Paul Ryan is gutless, a common characteristic of a class of people commonly known as politicians and opinion page writers.

That's our view. We hope you know yours.
